YORUBA ACTOR MUFTAU SANNI A.K.A (AJIGI JAGA) IS DEAD...

Another star in the Nigerian entertainment firmament has fallen. Popular actor, Muftau Adio famously known as Ajigi Jaga is dead. His death was confirmed to E24-7 MAGAZINE by the President of The Golden Movie Ambassadors (TGMA), Saidi Balogun.

In his tribute to the deceased, Saidi told E24-7 MAGAZINE, “Ajigi Jaga’s death is a big loss to the movie industry, especially to members of The Golden Movie Ambassadors.

Just last week, he called me to explain why he couldn’t attend our last monthly meeting. I can recall that he mentioned that his absence was due to injuries he sustained in a motor-bike accident about two weeks ago.

 I was shocked this morning to get a call from one of his children that he has passed on. We shall miss his useful contributions to discussions on how to move the movie industry forward and instil discipline and professionalism in our members. May his soul rest in peace.”

 Ajigi Jaga better known for his toughie roles that earned him the moniker, ‘Broken Bottle’ would be sorely missed.

Walmart Plans To Open 2 Stores In Nigeria

WALMART, America’s foremost low-price merchandise retail store, is planning to open two stores in Nigeria soon.

Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States, Prof. Ade Adefuye, told the Empowered Newswire on Wednesday that representatives from the famous retail store had visited him at the Nigerian Embassy in Washington DC as regards the plan to open the retail store in Nigeria. “It is an indication of the growing confidence in Nigeria’s economy,” Adefuye stated, adding that he was currently engaging with the leading US store on the conditions and requirements that would have to be met to do business in Nigeria.

WalMart currently employs about 2.1million employees and the CNN ranked it as the biggest global company last year, saying that, despite the global recession, the discount retailer’s bargain prices continued to lure consumers worldwide. The company’s plan to open stores in Nigeria is part of the strategy of its leadership team, led by its new President/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Michael Duke. At the company’s AGM last year, Duke was reported as saying that global markets were “becoming an even bigger and more important part of our company.”

Pop star releases unconfirmed artwork for new album

Davido has released the artwork to his forthcoming sophomore album, ‘Baddest’.

The artwork released onto Instagram some hours ago, shows a portrait of a child (bearing a striking resemblance) wearing a jewel-encrusted crown, with a gold neckchain which bears a pendant that reads OBO,  an acronym that represents his affluent lifestyle.

The HKN star will be releasing his album on Monday, June 8, 2015, a day after his graduation from Babcock University.

Davido revealed this fact in Kenya recently where he performed at the 5th Afrobeatz Festival, Davido said: “I’m inviting all of you for my graduation on June 7, then on June 8 I launch my album. I have worked hard for this degree, day in day out.

“If I am in China today and I have exams tomorrow, I better get to school tomorrow or else everything is a bust. I have worked on this degree for like six years now. Before I became famous I was in school so I had to take a break, but about two years ago, I went back to school.”

Davido didn’t have a perfect outing in Kenya, as many fans took to social media to lambast him over his performance, with guests accusing him of being under the influence of alcohol.

His gig in Kenya coincided with the Nigeria general elections, which sparked fury in many citizens who took to social media to express their displeasure.

Davido offered a defence against that, emphasising that his show was booked for last year, when the date of the elections was still February 14. The postponement of the election resulted in a clash, which put him in a tight position.

“First of all the Nigerian elections were supposed to be on February 14 and I was booked for this show last year”. Davido stated. “What was I to do? As an artiste it all comes down to business, I gave my word I would be here on this day. They moved the elections. That is not my fault.”

Davido’s forthcoming album is expected to feature collaborations from international acts like Meek Mill, Drake, Wale and others.
